    I've always been fascinated with rocks! These are actually called "fulgurite". I found them on the beach in North Carolina. When lightning hits the beach or dunes during a storm, it melts and fuses the sand turning it into a sort of glass. (not transparent of course...) Sometimes you can find tubes. It's really neat stuff. When I first found them, I thought they were just some concrete or something from costruction. I later discovered that they were really treasures! I just thought they were beautiful. How 'bout that!?!
